We’re in this timeframe where it’s still winter, but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and so is spring. If you already make your cleaning products yourself, let’s create a warm vanilla scent for this season. Each spray and scrub gives your home a cozy vanilla vibe while safely cleaning your home. I have 4 simple vanilla fragrance combinations that I can share with you – you can choose one, try all of them, or develop your own vanilla fragrance.
VANILLA SCENT COMBINATIONS
ORANGE CREAMSICLE
Sweet Orange + Vanilla – use a 2: 1 ratio
SWEET LEMON + LAVENDER
Lemon + Lavender + Vanilla – use a 3: 2: 1 ratio
LIME MERINGUE CAKE
Use lemon + vanilla + bergamot – ratio 3: 2: 1
SWEET CITRUS MINT
Sweet orange + peppermint + vanilla – use a ratio of 3: 2: 1
DIY recipes for VANILLA-FY
ALL PURPOSE DISINFECTIVE SPRAY
1 1/4 cups of water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup of vodka or alcohol
15 drops of essential oil
PLEASE NOTE: If you want to increase the disinfectant power in this spray, use Everclear (95% alcohol) instead of vodka – 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup white vinegar, 1 cup Everclear, 15 drops essential oil.
GLASS CLEANING SPRAY
1 1/2 cups of water
1 1/2 tablespoons of alcohol
3 drops of essential oil
NIGHTLY SINK SCRUB
2 cups of baking powder
20 drops of essential oil
a squirt of castile or detergent in the sink
BATHROOM SCRUB
2 cups of baking powder
20 drops of essential oil
a squirt of castile or dish soap, if necessary, to add a little lather power
