If you’re having trouble clearing the noise right now or feel like you just can’t be motivated to get started, today I’m sharing my simple 5 step method fast Eliminate interference in every room. The goal here is a quick win and a confusing space. This could be a drawer, counter, end table, or closet – choose an area that needs a little tidying up and get started. I used this method to debug my side of the bedroom closet this weekend.
Here’s my predecessor – clothes that need to be washed, Christmas returns that need to be treated, debugging was definitely in order.
1 – SET A TIMER – This can be for 10 minutes or 2 hours, you choose! I ended up working on this room for about 30 minutes. As always, it took me less time than I expected.
2 – DELETE – Remove all items from the clutter.
3 – FAST SORTING – Do a quick sorting – assign each item to one of these 4 categories (keep, throw, donate, move). In the end I had a donation bag and a throw bag – I love that feeling!
4 – SWIPE + SPACE – Make sure the area is wiped clean and put the items back. I used the new all-purpose cloth in the cleaning set for this.
I also vacuum a room if necessary – this took about 1 minute and is always worth the effort!
5 – Take a look – Evaluate the area and see if there is anything you need to keep that space from getting crowded again. Put your Relocate items in their new place and take care of your Toss and Donate items.
If you’re looking for help getting started and a group to work together on debugging, sign up for that 5 days home refresh – I hope you will join us! The 1000+ people who bought and participated last August were delighted with the method and the quick wins in their homes.
I love a good before and after, don’t I?
What about you? Is there a room in which you can do a quick debugging today? Set a timer and get started!
