If you’re not sure what to make for dinner tonight, let me suggest one of our family favorites. Winger’s Sticky Fingers and their great sauce.

I first discovered Winger’s when I was living in Utah. But it can also be found in Wyoming, Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon. The next time you’re in one of these states, be sure to check to see if there’s a restaurant near you. If you’ve never been here you are really missing out. It’s your typical casual restaurant, but its trademark is sticky fingers.

The sticky finger sauce contains a good amount of natural smoke flavor and sweetness and they are really good for finger licking.

Really, I don’t think anyone would judge you too harshly if they saw this (well, I wouldn’t. And isn’t it just my opinion that matters ?! Just kidding.)

Since I love her so much and I can’t just go to a Winger’s restaurant when I want, I had to come up with a cat recipe. And it turned out to be one of my favorite recipes.

What is a sticky finger?

A sticky finger is a chicken tender or strip of chicken that is crispy and crunchy and covered in an amazingly sweet and flavorful sauce.

What’s the best chicken?

I saw my friend Amber post a sticky finger recipe on her blog and it sounded pretty good. However, when I was about to do it, I realized that she had said to use frozen, breaded chicken fingers. And unfortunately I didn’t have any of them. So I decided to just make my own and it was still amazing. That’s why I call this a recipe that’s better than sticky fingers. That just makes it a bit better than the restaurant version, but still has its authentic taste.

But if you’re in a hurry or prefer to use frozen chicken, all of the Frozen Crispy Chicken Fingers can be used. If you have a hot air fryer, you can make it a little crispy, which will make it extra crispy and tasty. Or you could deep fry the chicken fingers too! It’s really up to you and what you prefer.

And if you’re in a pinch, check out Amber’s blog for instructions on how to use the frozen chicken fingers instead of the homemade ones … I’m sure they are still delicious!

How do you eat Winger’s Sticky Fingers?

It makes you hungry just thinking about it. This is a great meal to enjoy a sports game, game night, party, or just a regular family meal. Even a picky eater will enjoy this copycat recipe.

Most people like to have them with a side dish of ranch dressing, which they sometimes do at Winger’s, but it’s not the sauce they cook the chicken fingers in.

We think it’s the perfect flavorful addition, however, and what overdone those sticky fingers. Feel free to leave it out if you don’t like / can’t have the ranch … but I highly recommend you don’t! Blue cheese would be fab too.

What else can the sauce be used for?

This sauce is great for other recipes. It doesn’t have to be just for chicken fingers. You can always put something aside for later and use it for salads, dips, chicken nuggets, eggs, chicken wings, quesadillas – anything that sounds good!

Instructions for sticky finger sauce from Wingers

What if i don’t have buttermilk?

You can make buttermilk at home by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 cup of cow’s milk and allowing it to sit for about five minutes.

Which hot sauce should I use?

I prefer to use Frank’s hot sauce. However, if you want to use something else, you can always use it – just make sure it’s a buffalo sauce or it won’t taste like the winger’s sticky sauce.

What Brand of Ranch Dressing Should I Use?

Just use whatever is for sale in the store of your choice. Just use what you like best and you know it will be good.
