Best double umbrella stroller 2021

You’re probably wondering why I’m such a fan of the amenities that umbrella strollers offer, so just give me a listen. They are literally designed to be lightweight and to be as compact as possible to disassemble. This means they are easy for a parent to pee, whip even the trunk of the smallest sedans and do whatever the day holds in store. And since I’m a mighty 5 ′ 1 ″, having something light is a pretty good option.

Half of my life seems to be running errands these days, and it’s far too tiresome to pull out anything bigger than an umbrella stroller only to be put back in after a run through Target.

Another thing they do well? Travel! Our family loves to travel, but all the little ones need a break from the go-go-go mentality that can come with it.

The ability to bring a stroller for them to rest makes everyone a happy camper. I don’t want to carry my toddler around and as much as I want to think that if I go to the gym I will be able to take it anywhere on adventures, this mom’s arms get tired. If you have two kids aged 1 to 5, I say, just do it. Try a double umbrella stroller. It will make your daily life and your travels easier.

Remember, I’m not suggesting that you don’t need your lovely big fancy double stroller. Depending on your family, you might be the type of person who needs both the fancy stroller and umbrella stroller.

The checklist

  • Weight- The whole idea is to find the lightest stroller that your kids will comfortably fit in and that you will love to push.
  • Folded size Again, this is for travel and convenience, so you’ll want to find a double umbrella stroller that folds neatly and is compact.
  • Unfold & Wrinkle In order for a double umbrella stroller to be really comfortable, it must do these things with ease. You want it to be easy and quick, especially if you have one when you travel.
  • Sitting There are a lot of differences in seating in double umbrella strollers. Those with reclining seats and footrests should be at the top of your list as they make napping possible!
  • Dishes- What kind of tableware you prefer is really a personal choice, just make sure that it keeps your little one safe and comfortable. The safest option is always a 5-point harness. You can also check out how easy they are to adjust and buckle up and take off.
  • How it presses- Because umbrella strollers are so light, they can be a little difficult to maneuver. If you can run to a Buy Buy Baby or similar store to test some while your kids sit in them and see how it feels.
  • Equipment- While these are limited, you can still have a list of accessories that you really want in your stroller, like hoods or storage space.

Zoe XL2 – Best overall result (but expensive!)

Stroll double umbrella stroller

This stroller is expensive, but for good reason. It is really of high quality and lasts a long time. The Zoe is one of the lightest and smallest folded double umbrella strollers. While it’s super light, it can even hold your 4 year olds comfortably, which is pretty amazing.

The canopies are amazing and provide the ultimate shade for your babies and they can really sit back and relax for a nap. This is honestly a dream stroller for amusement parks. As for accessories, a snack tray, cup holder and great storage option are included in this umbrella stroller.

There are currently both a 2020 model and a 2021 model, both are good choices depending on your budget. The biggest advantage is that this side-by-side stroller only weighs 24 pounds, so you can take it with you anywhere.

The canopies are top notch and block UV rays, they have a nice cup holder on the side. In addition, the stroller can stand independently when it is folded. This stroller is a great option if your kids are a little older as it can carry up to 50 lbs in each seat!

Evenflo Aero2 double stroller – the best storage for double umbrella strollers

Stroll double umbrella stroller

I have to start by telling you my favorite thing about this stroller! There is a storage basket that you can attach to one of the front seats for extra storage space if there is only one child, and that you can stow underneath if you have a second driver. There are also mesh pockets on the inside of each seat that can be used as snack and drinking cup holders.

Like most of the strollers on this list, it has a 5-point harness for safety. The seats also recline individually (some umbrella strollers don’t have this option, which can be frustrating) and have large UPF 50+ canopies.

My husband is a big bang for your buck and that’s exactly what this double umbrella stroller will bring you. For only about $ 88, this super-light stroller is a parenting favorite. The seats recline just enough to be comfortable and there is a small canopy to protect your child from the sun. It’s pretty easy to maneuver and compact.

Dream on Me Volgo Twin Umbrella Stroller – A narrow option for busy places

This Volgo stroller has two front-facing seats, perfect for twins or children of different ages. The compact design is ideal for travel and it’s narrow enough to get you through a busy street or a crowded store. It has a lot of storage space and is made of Prima Classed Linen, which is easy to hand wash.

It’s the perfect stroller for easy accessibility for both mom and kids.

Kolcraft Cloud Double– A great backup stroller option

Kolcraft Cloud Side-by-Side double umbrella stroller with 3-point safety system and reclining seats,

This is a really affordable stroller. I would say 100% worth it if you buy this purchase on top of another stroller that you have for everyday use.

There are two major drawbacks to the Kolcraft Cloud; There is no 5-point belt only 3 and there is no storage basket. Other than those things, it has pretty much everything else to offer. The seats can be leaned back a little, they are easy to maneuver and transport and the hoods are large.

Chicco Echo Twin – Best double umbrella stroller for small children

This is probably my favorite double umbrella stroller if your children are quite small. It’s pretty sturdy, which means it can take some great adventures and / or errands, but still have the compact feel you want.

It’s a little heavier, but ergonomically easy to carry with a handle, and at least you can count on it to be carried as your bonus workout. It fits perfectly through any door frame.

It literally has everything on the checklist from maneuverability to a 5-point harness (plus a cup holder for your morning coffee) and that’s why I highly recommend it.

I say this stroller is great if your kids are pretty young as this stroller struggles when your kids are over 30 pounds on each side, mostly over cracks in the road.

Maclaren Twin Triumph stroller – Great lightweight double umbrella stroller

best double umbrella stroller

Maclaren strollers are always the best umbrella strollers in my opinion. They have front wheels that can handle bumps and cracks in the road. This stroller has some very comfortable seats that can be reclined.

Plus, the side-by-side stroller weighs just 21 pounds. and can hold a child up to 110 pounds. It’s pretty remarkable.

While not many double umbrella strollers are a great option for newborns, Joovy got it right. You can lean back individually and turn into a chair, almost like a cradle. It grows super well with your child and can hold up to 50 pounds in each seat. This stroller has pretty much everything on the checklist, including a great canopy and amazing storage underneath. It has safety reflectors so you can be more comfortable with your little ones when you go for a late night walk!

Only if the manufacturer says so. A normal child seat, like the one most double-umbrella strollers have, simply doesn’t have the right angle or level of support to hold a newborn safely.
