5 Indispensable Newborn Products (A Rookie Moms Round-Up!)

No matter how well prepared you are for a person, you can never really prepare to become a parent. We are all about mothers who help mothers. So of course we had to ask some of our favorite moms about the products that helped them survive the newborn stage.

5 newborn must-haves from the Rookie Mom Squad

Newborn must-haves

Ring sling

Rookie mom, Karissa, says her favorite newborn item is a sling ring. She really loves the Nalakai Ring Sling because it is just as high quality and comparable to some of the big, expensive brands without the high price.

The Nalakai Ring Sling also has:
• Many color options
• It’s affordable
• Anne (the owner) has many how-to videos that new moms can use to learn how to wrap their babies up safely and comfortably!
• The fabric is light and very breathable

Gro Anywhere blackout curtain

Laura, one of our sleep experts, recommends the Gro Anywhere Blackout Curtain to all new moms. She says if you make sure your baby’s room is pitch black, it signals that it’s bedtime! Light can interfere with melatonin production, so we need to make sure our baby’s room is as dark as possible so that he can relax. Plus, they can even travel with you!

Röhm portable sound machine

Newborn must-have

Shelby, a mother of two on our Rookie Mom Squad, says Rohm’s portable sound machine helped her survive the days of the newborn! It’s paid, portable, and easy to use. Plus, she’s had it for 2.5 years and it still works amazingly when it’s less than $ 30.

Woolino sleeping bags

Shelby also recommends Woolino sleeping bags. The two-season sleeping bag from 2 to 24 months is a one-and-do item. They really are of amazing quality, and a sleeping bag held them through both children.

Tubby Todd

Tubby Todd

Now to a product that the whole team absolutely loves! You won’t be using Tubby Todd on your newborn right away, but trust us, you want it to be waiting in the closet when you need it. Tubby Todd makes some of the best personal care products for babies. Shampoo, body wash, lotion and more.

Says Kate, “I’ve bought other soaps and lotions that fall into the same category and I find that the smell of this product beats the competition. I like it so much that I actually used the lotion on myself! My son also has extremely sensitive skin (like his mom), and the lotion specifically helps with the small rashes he gets on his face and neck during the day, also with the scent (usually I’m fragrance-free, but those natural scents are a game changer). ”

Amber also swears by Tubby Todd’s All Over Ointment. This ointment is gentle enough for newborns but works for all ages. If your daughter suffers from eczema, this is her go-to place for relief.
